WITHAM BOWLS CLUB, a well established outdoor sporting venue is situated in central Witham. The Club was founded in 1904 and moved in 1921 to its current location in pleasant and tranquil surroundings in Collingwood Road.
The Club supports a healthy membership of both ladies and gentlemen and continues to welcome new members, with or without bowling experience from within the district. Our qualified bowls coaches are available for basic instruction and tuition as well as to assist the more experienced member. Membership details, and a Club Membership application form, can be located under the 'About our Club' menu option.
Our Club enters teams in leagues administered by the North West Essex BA, the NWE Ladies (Triples) and the Central Midweek Bowling leagues. Additionally, many "friendly" fixtures are organised throughout the Season and several of our more experienced players are occasionally selected to play in representative matches. Our very popular "Club Nights" on most Monday and Friday evenings give both the novice and the more experienced Members the opportunity of playing together, followed by drinks in our well appointed Club House.
